• Ensure appropriate planning, standards, and quality procedures are maintained on the assigned project.

• Issue a job to the site technician for quality control.
• Closing open tasks from the IMS system from Ekurhuleni
• Create a task for mainline leaks from jobs returned as mainline leaks.
• Create reports for QAs.
• Check if the meter that is replaced is on the right stand using IMQS and verify with the account number of the customer.
• Return failed QA to the contractor to be readdressed.

• SMEC was appointed as the Meter Management Consultant to manage the City of Ekurhuleni's water meters and related meter material. This appointment includes management and administration of new water meters installations, disconnections, restrictions, reconnections, preventative maintenance, repair, and replacement of water meters. Other related functions include Credit Control, Strategic Meter Management, Smart Metering, Meter Audits, Indigent Leak Fixing, Bulk Meter Consolidation and Rand Water Board meter readings.R 40 million
• SMEC South Africa (Pty) Ltd (SMEC) was appointed by the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (CoE), as the Consulting Engineers helping with an audit of Large Power User (LPU) Electricity Meters. SMEC has been mandated by the Department of Revenue Services (Electricity) to complete an audit of specifically showed Large Power Users (LPUs) within specified areas under the authority of the City of Ekurhuleni. No physical repair work took place, and the audit was limited to visual inspections and verification of metering software and thereafter the comparison to the automated meter reading system to confirm correct programming and any tampering of metering software. All information was captured using live in the field data capturing systems.R3 m
• SMEC has been providing support the CHDM, including emergency assistance for the 2019/20 budget year. The scope of works for this project includes the full physical verification of immovable assets, condition assessment, revise remaining useful lives of asset (RUL) where necessary, and compilation of GRAP compliant immovable fixed asset register for period of 3 (three) years
