I am a result driven professional quantity surveyor currently enrolled for an MBA at the Gordon Institute of Business Science. I have been in the construction industry for more than a decade with contractors, consultants, banks, educational institutions, and the Council of quantity surveyors. My key expertise is project risk management, feasibility studies, procurement of contractors and suppliers, cost reporting management and reporting. I am also an entrepreneur with experience as a franchisor and an independent retail business owner operating in regional malls. I have enjoyed empowering others, interacting with clients, and offering value to communities that I worked with.

  • Interviews are conducted by three registered professional Quantity surveyor who then jointly recommends to the council on which candidates should be registered or deferred for professional registration.

  • Managed the banks financial risks in construction development projects.
  • The role involved vetting clients and their proposed construction project and project team, preparing cost assessments and feasibility studies, recommending loan conditions to suit the individual developments, presenting the loan application to the banks credit team with justifications to reject or to offer the loan, reducing the bank risks by advising the debt to equity ratio to be employed on specific projects, liaised with the clients during the loan application stage through the construction stage and completion stage, estimating and conducting site inspections for loan disbursements on a cost to complete basis.
  • My role was to also monitor cost overruns and recommend cause of action and assist clients to apply for extra funds with the bank if necessary.
  • It was important to check completion documentations as approved by council and ensure that the projects are completed as expected and to the satisfaction of Nedbank.
  • Major projects included the Cell C head office, Baywest mall, Forest hill mall and several pick n pay stand alone centers.
