My name is Migcobo Peter. I am a from the Eastern Cape, Queenstown. I grew up surrounded by nature, it always fascinated me. However, with the passing years, I saw the beautiful landscape slowly become rapidly urbanized. I washed a once beautiful wetland become a McDonald's and a Casino. Then a drought hit my town and the water crises ensued. This prompted me to research which environmental process either than the drought could have led us to that particular predicament. Which led to my discover of conservation ecology and I have fallen in love with the science ever since. My studies in conservation have provided me with in-depth knowledge of ecosystem and ecosystem services and an aptitude for management planing. Which would help me bring extensive experience promoting operational compliance with environmental and other relevant regulations. As a result, I endeavor to bring intergraded management initiatives to communities such as mine that would allow for sustainable resource management so that our future is not as arid as it currently seems.
Addressed grade 12 concerns and possible questions with their pending admission to their university. Assisted them with any issues, such as where to apply for funding, housing etc.
Assisted a PhD student with their project. Which included harvesting sorghum and weighing it.
