  • SAB - Rolled and project managed integration into, and implemented billing structure, catering for billing each profit centre, and granular reporting down to individual users
  • FNB Managed integration between Online Banking confirming payments via fax
  • Implemented seamless interface to allow FNB to bill users each time they sent fax confirmation of payments

  • Saambou bank launched salary deduction lending to GVT employees getting paid through Persal and

  • There was no integration into private sector payroll and this placed massive administration strain on
  • HR departments in private sector to accommodate payroll based loans on behalf of their employees
  • Saw this gap and spearheaded development of a software system, linking private sector payrol into
  • Saambou Bank
  • Affordability and approval for loans all done through our software and loans electronically paid within 24 hours directly to employee bank accounts
  • Telecoms Industry – Company Digipay
  • In the advent of prepaid cards launched by the Cellular Networks, I noticed their challenges to deliver the physical recharge vouchers,
  • Launched Virtual Vouchers which removed cost of:
  • Printing to Networks
  • Cost of logistics
  • Security , as it was as good as transporting cash
  • Spearheaded the development an SMS based prepaid voucher distribution system under the brand

  • This system successfully implemented at Vodacom Lesotho and then Vodacom DRC to Super dealers of Vodacom
  • GSM payphone industry
  • Supplied Vodacom Talk 1000 per second billing , packages to payphone operators
  • Pioneered the development of billing management system integrating into BATS and Epic billing systems at Vodacom
  • Integrated the then four major banks to allow top up payments and managing the minutes bought and sold through payphones
  • This system eventually morphed into a CDR(Call Data Record) based management system
  • This became widely used by operators the LCR (Least cost Routing) Industry)
  • Also allowed Super Dealers to do own billing and branding
  • This initiative morphed into what is today more commonly known as MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network operators)
  • Whilst in DRC with Vodacom launch, realised that post war there were no POS system at the hotels or anywhere in DRC
  • Next avenue was to turn cell phones into POS systems by setting up communication stream to centralised POS device
  • Turned down by the local banks due to “security” risks
  • This was the perfect opportunity to roll out SMS based POS device in conjunction with RAW Bank
  • DRC under the banner Digibank
  • Facilitated payments in DRC and cross border money transfers between DRC and SA under the brand
  • Africash under Zimasist for Zimbabwe
  • Taxi Industry
  • Spearheaded the development of a payphone and smart card for collection of taxi fares
  • The unit acted as both a fare collection system with built in smart card that allowed fare collections and and taxi passengers to make payphone based calls in the taxi whilst travelling
  • Digipower
  • Due to platform built for managing payphones remotely was approached by IEMS (Integrated
  • Efficiency Management system) to utilise our sms platform combining GSM and RF tech, to manage
  • Electricity and Water meters on behalf of Municipalities
  • Built into the system was early detection of power being cut due to theft

  • By combining the risk under one umbrella through SANSEA (South African National
  • Employers Association) combined with stricter underwriting managed to become the Sole brokerage, offering comprehensive cover for the security industry
  • Included as a first in SA, was fidelity cover to the security industry
  • This was a prerequisite for
  • Security Companies to the by the insurance companies to the banks, to allocate their contracts guarding the banks

  • Once again seen as an “uninsurable” risk I combined taxis under their associations
  • Starting initially with STS Soweto Transport Services, Bree Street Taxi association and the longdistance Taxi Association managed to get comprehensive cover underwritten
  • This combination sparked the formation of what is today known as Santaco.
