  • Recruited by UMALUSI on a part time in 2013 as part of a team to conduct a cooperative study of NS/ Tech for NCS and CAPS and also compare the curriculum with international countries like British Columbia, Singapore and Kenya.
  • In 2005 I visited the school in the UK. Part if the visit was to see how teachers teach and how learners learn. At a school called Bridgewater High School in Warrington, Manchester, teachers are using what we call interactive board to teach their learners. This is one of the sophisticated products of ICT. Given a chance this technology can work better for the province as well.
  • Co-Author of the published Headstart Technology Grade 7 textbook by Oxford University Press
  • In 2005 I was invited by Zola 7 to give advice on the design of a proper laboratory for science. The Zola 7 programme is about helping people to help themselves. As of now Reasoma Secondary School has a Science laboratory designed using my inputs.
  • Attended Fundamentals in Project Management course for a week at Wits in 2008.
  • Computer Literate including the use of MS Project & Visio for all the projects in GDE
  • Project Coordinator Role Model Intervention Programme (RMIP) from 2002 – 2004. This strategy aims at improving the performance of "above average" learners to increase their chances to access higher education. RMIP sites are set up in each district and learner attendance in this programme is good. Some learners are adopted by Private Sector e.g. Eskom, Engen and Nedbank and intensive tuition in Maths and Science is provided. Specific attention is given to girl learners to improve the quality of their results and to ensure that more Maths and Science girls enrol for engeneering. Under my supervision; in 2002 we obtained 100% pass for all the three years coupled with distinctions in commercial and sciences streams. Most of the learners are currently doing their second- and third-year’s university level in engineering.
  • When the MST project at Provincial level was disbanded, I was given some of the projects they have initiated. One of those is the formula 1 challenge where learners design and make a racing car powered by carbon dioxide. The competitions are run locally until the international level.
  • 2006 the Gauteng Department of Education changed their NCS orientation model. Previously teachers were orientated by the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). I trained district facilitators and cluster leader to prepare them to train teachers over the July holidays.
  • Led a team of technology teachers and district officials in evaluating the LTSM materials for NCS grade 8 and 9 implementation next year (2007).
  • Marketing PROTEC activities on both print and electronic media i.e. SAICE magazine, Mail & Guardian and SABC`s Growing tomorrow show.
  • Co-Author of grade 7 Oxford Head Start Technology learner and tutor guides.
