  • This is a specialist role in which one is required to remain proactive and in charge of oneself, while also being a team player.
  • The role has evolved significantly over the period that I've been in it, with my assigned responsibilities having transformed from mostly operational and BAU as a Junior Analyst to taking charge of my own projects within the team and seeing those through.
  • Even through the evolution of the role; the core of the work has remained Capital management and optimization, Liquidity and Credit Risk Management, Regulatory Impact Study and Analysis.
  • I double-hatted as 2IC to the Head of Pricing, and that aspect of my role required that I assume responsibility in her absence, but also take over some functions that were primarily hers, such as capability enhancements on the Capital Calculator in collaboration with IT, management and training of graduates and junior analysts, attendance of meetings such as credit committees, decision-making, and implementation.
  • Some key responsibilities over the years are listed below: asset onboarding with a specific focus on capital allocation and management, pricing of different products across Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), transaction analysis, risk and credit process review and commentary, advisory and training to the business on day-to-day pricing queries and using the Banking Book pricing tool, testing, upgrading, and maintaining the Banking Book Capital Calculator/Pricing Tool, interpretation, correction, and the regulatory and economic capital consequences of different products, clients, and countries, working with Group Treasury to define appropriate investment strategies and optimization of financial resources, MI reporting, and data analytics across CIB, and regulatory impact analysis.
  • Basel understanding and implementation, high stakeholder engagement across the different businesses, and advisory to business on optimal deal structuring and funding.

    • I was in the Top 10 Performers in CIB Finance for the role I played in building and rolling out the Capital Calculator Price Cruncher

  • Ignite Programme Winner - October 2018

    • Standard Bank CIB has a Leadership programme open to young female in the Bank. I took part in 2018 and was part of the third cohort. The final challenge of the programme was to present to a few executives a problem we've identified in the Bank and provide a solution. I was part of the group that won first place.

  • Price Cruncher G0-Live - MAY 2024

    • I was part of the team that built, tested, rolled out and trained our stakeholders for the launch of the new Capital Calculator - Price Cruncher Pro
