  • We have a Robotics Skills Development Program that is MerSeta funded but run under Tshwane University of Technology.
  • The program consists of Three different courses which are at different levels.
  • The first one is an Introduction to Robotics course where we teach the students to build and program a mini Robot Car that operates on an Arduino Micro controller. We teach them the Arduino programming language which is C based.
  • The second level is called Advanced Robotics, we use a similar Robot car to the one used in the introduction course just that this one has Single board computer instead of the micro-controller which is a Raspberry pi. We teach them to program the raspberry pi using the python programming language.
  • Finally in the last level we have a ROS(Robot Operating Software) course which uses a different robot which will be having a Lidar sensor on it which means that the robot will be able to be put in an unknown environment and find its way around.
