Programme Responsibilities
 Accompany Venda, Steenbok and Elukwatini communities in EarthLore’s
dialogue methodology for reviving their traditional ecological knowledge and
practices.
 Support the implementation of EarthLore’s agroecology training programme for
the same local communities, building on indigenous knowledge.
 Ensure regular follow-up with communities and farmers and facilitate problem
solving.
 Contribute to the development of EarthLore’s organizational strategic plan.
 Identify and propose new opportunities for expanding the work.
 Support interns and new team members in developing their skills and capacity
and understanding of issues and methodologies.
 Be an ambassador in developing and fostering new relationships with partners,
movements and civil society more generally.
 Write reports and analyses of programmatic activities within two weeks of
returning from field.
 Contribute to the preparation of the programs budget.
 Uphold EarthLore philosophy and practice.
 Support and contribute to communications such as articles and stories.
 Participate in EJ activities including mentoring where applicable.
 Advocacy which includes engaging with relevant government departments and
officials.
Administration Responsibilities
 Manage travel logistics and schedules for meetings/workshops/other events in
South Africa/Zimbabwe and cross borders for EarthLore staff and beneficiaries as
required.

Collect and file all reports, attendance registers and other relevant documents for
all events, workshops and programmes.
 Support the EarthLore team by ensuring rituals take place.
 Act as custodian of cash for all related field activities.
 Prepare fortnightly or monthly Cash Reconciliations as necessary for all cash
used in field activities.
 Source quotations for supplies and services related to programme activities.
 Scan and file receipts and supporting documentation for donor reporting.

  • Conducted monthly Agroecology training & Dialogues in 10 communities + support 2 Community Animators staff to enhance understanding of program me best practices and company protocols

Role and Responsibilities

1. Office Administration and communications

 Provide general support to EarthLore Johannesburg office as need

arises, for example logistics, participating in meetings, documentation,

taking care of visitors.

 Support the EarthLore team by ensuring rituals agreed take place.

 Support team with administrative duties, typing, support, travel

arrangements and workshop logistics.

 Ensure an efficient and pleasant office environment, maintain effective

systems, and manage all office administration including health &

safety, post, stationery and supplies

 Schedule staff meetings, draft and file notes/minutes.

 Manage all incoming communications on behalf of the team as

required, e.g. answering calls, visits, requests, and keep a written

record of all such communications.

2. Project administration

 Manage travel, conference and meeting logistics and schedules in

South Africa and cross border for EarthLore staff and beneficiaries as

required.

 Collect and file all reports for all events, workshops and programmes.

3. Finance Assistance

 Act as custodian of petty cash and cheque books

 Prepare fortnightly Petty Cash Reconciliations

 Support management of project petty cash system and cash flow

 Prepare of payment requisitions

 Source quotations for supplies and services

 Capture Petty Cash and EFT Payments into Pastel batches

 Scan and file receipts and supporting documentation for donor

reporting

 Administration and filing of financial documents for donor reports

4. Field Assistance

 Accompany Programme Manager on field trips to communities to

provide support as required.

 Assist in developing the processes and trainings with communities.

 Assist with dialogues with women in particular.

 Assist with reporting and documentation for programme work.
