• Compiling commissioning procedures for responsible areas of plant

• Maintain authorization in terms to Eskom Plant Safety Regulations as an RP (Responsible Person) to accept and clear permits and perform or supervise any work conducted under a permit to work. Authorized for Electrical and Mechcanical work on LV (AC or DC voltage 1000V) systems on the boiler and boiler auxiliaries including construction reticulation system, Kusile Power Plant.
• Manage Mil and Draught group commissioning team consisting of 6 members.

• Commissioning assistance on Medupi Power Station Project boilers 6,3 & 2.

As the lead commissioning engineer on mechanical plant, Martin was required to coordinate all commissioning activities related to the areas of plant he was responsible for. This included, stroking and setting of actuated dampers and valves, test running of LV and HV motors, balancing of rotating equipment, commissioning of lubrication oil and hydraulic systems, coupled and uncoupled test runs of equipment, final hot commissioning, testing and optimization, maintenance of plant before hand over to the client, compilation and completion of commissioning procedures, reports and databooks, compilation of damage reports and failure root cause analysis.

• Develop and implement time-based maintenance schedules for entire fleet.

- Drill rigs (Recirculation and core drilling rigs)

- Light duty vehicles

- Drill rig platforms (Caterpillar tracks, trucks, trailers)
