  • Meeting with Lecturers to ensure all modules are planned according to the multilingual environment the North West University’s Language Policy requires.
  • I also still interpret my own roster, with my specialty being Physiology and all Nursing Sciences modules.
  • I also ensure that all Scientific academic material is language edited, translated and formatted.
  • Monthly meetings are scheduled with my team to ensure that the satellite runs smoothly.
  • All Human Resources related activities are completed, i.e., Key Performance Areas, New policies and procedural meeting, staff evaluations every semester, and year end individual meetings to complete appraisals.
  • During 2020 my scope expanded to online learning and I was instrumental in getting Health Science classes online via Panopto and Screencast-O-Matic.
  • I also translated all class material and did voice-overs to be embedded into academic slides.
  • In 2023 I became responsible for the marketing and events coordinating for the Language Directorate. I designed the 2023 Compass, and ensured that the Language Directorate has a social media platform.
  • I am responsible for heading BAQONDE events, populating the POLOKELO repository with academic terminology and research.
  • I am also responsible for managing online platforms.
  • In 2023 I started a project with AMBANI and the School of Pharmacy to design an App for medical students, to understand and consult with their patients in a multilingual way. The App will go live in 2024.
  • I also submitted a research article in 2023 which was accepted to present at the 2nd International Language Conference hosted by the University of Salamanca. I presented my paper on 18 April 2024.
