Educational Philosophy
To me, as teachers, we have the great honour and responsibility to educate the whole child. Far too often educational institutions focus their attention on “pure excellence” forgetting that the whole child’s development is key. High schools have a role to prepare young people for life beyond school, creating opportunities for discovery and learning that will assist them to become well-rounded and holistically developed in all areas. The key word is “holistic” and NOT just academically excellent. By focusing attention on the whole learner educational institutions will produce youngsters who are great contributors to the society at large, while at the same time creating an environment of excellence for those who excel academically, to continue to do so. I believe this is done by the staff developing relationships with the learner. To develop the potential within each individual, it is important that time and effort are put into getting to know each student. In working in many different areas of the school, I have learnt that creating a culture of trust and relationship in the classroom and school environment is key to allow young people to become excited about learning in a safe and nurturing environment. Creating a culture of inclusivity, diversity, acceptance, and love is required to enable teenagers to reach their full potential in and out of the classroom. Experienced with project coordination, event planning, and resource allocation. Utilizes effective communication skills to ensure seamless team collaboration. Track record of implementing organizational strategies to improve efficiency and outcomes.
