- Arranging of occupational health and safety testing and evaluations in the workplace
- Coordinating training of personnel in different areas of safety competencies
- On the job training, coaching/mentoring of Candidate Safety Officers and Safety Representatives
- Interpreting the Client safety specifications and OHS Act legislative requirements to the site management
- Coordinating all legal appointments according to the legislative requirements
- Compiling and submitting all safety reports/stats on time
- Enforcing compliance with legal requirements, i.e. the right to stop dangerous work etc.
- Ensuring that SHE Committee meeting is being conducted monthly
- Managing and maintaining all entry, annual and exit medicals on site
- Participating in safety forums created by the company or client such as safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Distributing safety information as and when required
- Ensuring that management is up to date with the current legislative requirements, by providing guidance on compliance and system implementation
- Ensuring all construction and installation processes of systems adhere to the Health & Safety standard procedures
- Emergency Preparedness plan and response
