2007: Scooped Mondi Shanduka Commended Newspaper Award in the category News & Analysis for a three-part series titled "Blacks Know Rugby"
2005: A community newspaper that I edited and co-owned, West Xpress, scooped the Best Emerging Publication at the Sanlam Community Press Awards
1999-2000: The Frewin Trophy for Typographical Excellence 2 years in succession during my tenure as Night Editor/Assistant Editor of the Johannesburg daily Beeld.
2011: At the funeral of the legendary Eastern Cape boxer, Nkosana "Happy Boy" Mgxaji, then Minister of Sport and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula quoted from one of my articles ("Those Were Happy Days" in City Press) in his eulogy for "Bra Nko".
As the singer-songwriter MeZZo, I already released 2 fully-fledged albums and numerous Singles. My songs receive wide airplay on commercial and community radio stations.
One of my love songs 'Real Love' reached the semifinals of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition.
I'm an avid walker and as a recovering alcoholic I subscribe to the AA mantra "that you can only keep what you have by giving it away".
