I was part of the Phelophepha Healthcare Train team in 2023 and 2024, where I contributed to providing eye health services to disadvantaged communities across South Africa. This experience deepened my commitment to public health and honed my clinical skills in diverse and challenging environments.

In my role as an Optometry Assistant, I provided essential frontline support in a busy optometry practice. I was responsible for assisting patients with check-in, scheduling appointments, and guiding them through frame selection, offering personalized recommendations to match their style and prescription needs. I worked closely with the optometrist, preparing diagnostic equipment and performing preliminary tests to support patient examinations. My role also involved managing patient inquiries and concerns, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for each patient. Additionally, I maintained an organized and welcoming practice environment, contributing to overall patient satisfaction and the efficient operation of the practice.
