  • Manage A21 Aftercare Program for survivors of trafficking in South Africa according to the legislative framework for the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons in South Africa.
  • Management of crises & supervise social workers. Oversee all crisis management and subsequent reporting procedures.
  • Responsible for the program management and planning of each Aftercare case under the supervision of the Director of Aftercare and Victim Empowerment Program Supervisor appointed by FAMSA.
  • Facilitated legal support for victims of trafficking and supported the police (SAPS and or HAWKS) during the interview and prosecution procedures.
  • Represented A21 in all key Government and Non-Government meetings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Oversee the case management process and preparation of an individual care plan for all A21 identified victims of trafficking together with A21 aftercare staff.
  • Facilitated counseling and trauma recovery assistance to all victims of trafficking directly after acceptance into A21 Aftercare Program.
  • Assisted in court processes and the preparation of documents for all victims of trafficking alongside the prosecutor and the police.
  • Oversee all legal documentation during the relocation and repatriation process for victims of trafficking in South Africa and abroad.
  • Contact and establish a network of partnerships locally and abroad. Network and partner with the police (SAPS & Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations), immigration and NGOs in (country) and abroad to find the best possible solution for each victim.
  • Present and discuss victim cases during multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for each survivor.
  • Managed daily operations of the aftercare program, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for victims of trafficking.
  • Accompanied victims of trafficking to court appearances, consultations with prosecutors and or the police (i.e. HAWKS/DPCI).
  • Accompanied victims of trafficking for medical appointments or assessments, such as the TCC for forensic medical assessments.
  • Liaised with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans and provide the highest quality of care.
  • Monitor Aftercare staff work to ensure best practice. Supervised and monitored workloads of assigned staff to drive service delivery for clients.
  • Monitor survivors progress and have individual sessions with each survivor when appropriate.
  • Recruited, hired and trained all aftercare staff, providing direct supervision, ongoing staff development and continuing education to employees.
  • Spearheaded and implemented new projects to expand scope of engagement.

Professional Development

Throughout my professional development career, I have strived to keep up to date with new developments in the social work practice. I have engaged in various trainings to enhance my skills and expertise. These include attending the Introduction to Trafficking In Persons in the South African context facilitated by the National Department of Social Development.  I have received training in various topics such as statutory work and report writing regarding children (Children's Act 38 of 2005), understanding trauma and trauma work, supervision skills, mediation skills, RISE training, family support model for addiction recovery, amongst others. 


I have knowledge and understanding of the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act 07 of 2013, Sexual Offences and Related Matters Amendment Act 13 of 2021, Domestic Violence Amendment Act 14 of 2021 & Children's Act 38 of 2005.
