  • Acquire a list of members that are withdrawing from their funds/ scheme(active cases) from the scanning and index department on an excel spreadsheet.
  • Use the member number from the spreadsheet to view their submitted withdrawal/ retirement claim notification on Workflow.
  • Check that all required documents for a withdrawal/retirement have been submitted i.e. ID copy, claim form, banking details.
  • Insure that the claim form has been fully completed with the members signature, authorised signatures should match with the authorised signatures loaded on the scheme on Workflow to date, correct effective date for withdrawal/retirement filled in, correct ID number/ Passport number.
  • Check on Compass software if all premiums are fully paid for the withdrawing member up to date of withdrawal/retirement.
  • If any details are outstanding, we communicate with the financial advisor for the fund or the member via an email or sms or via a call to the member, depending on what the outstanding requirement is.
  • After ensuring that all requirements are met for processing the claim, maintaining contact with retirement fund financial advisors for smooth processing procedures within SLA we process the withdrawal claim on BPC and a retirement fund on Compass depending on which working system they we loaded and when.
  • Applying for tax directives on BPC or Ebtax (wait for 24 hours for the tax directive)
  • Submit the bank details for validation, if the bank account submitted is open and belonging to the member withdrawing while awaiting tax directive from SARS.
  • Once tax directive and banking details have been received and validated we submit the claim for authorisation for quality processing.
  • Once claim has been quality passed then claim can be paid out according to the bank account submitted i.e. some banks take 24 hours others take up to 72 hours for the member to receive their share of funds(benefit).
  • Claim is then ended and records of all processed claims are loaded on system i.e. Workflow.
  • Type of employment: Recurring 6 months contract.
