RETAIL ASSISTANT MANAGER

  • Responsible for leading the retail team on board one of the Princess Cruises fleet of cruise ships
  • Supporting and coaching the retail team to ensure high levels of customer service and product knowledge
  • Providing both one on one and group training to a retail team of between 10 and 25 retail staff
  • Identifying and developing future Retail Supervisors and Assistant Managers
  • Ensuring ongoing evaluation and tailoring of training to ensure success
  • Responsible for delivering new hire welcome and orientation
  • Ensuring all retail staff receive the required job training (including specialist area training), safety training and ongoing support as staff settle into life at sea
  • Ensuring an outstanding guest experience is constantly delivered both by own guest interactions and by ongoing training to the retail team
  • Assisting with guest queries, ensuring all queries are resolved in a timely manner and with a positive outcome
  • Completing of daily and weekly paperwork as per cruise line and Retail department policies and procedures

  • Ensuring all schedules comply with MLC and cruise line requirements whilst optimizing staff time and positive work/life balance
  • Ensuring company standards and maintained and floor layouts adhere to company guidelines
  • Interacting with crew members, staff, and officers onboard and shore side departments
  • Coaching the retail team to ensure both the company core values and CRUISE principles are constantly maintained
  • Representing the retail department at several safety and customer service meetings and committees including HESS safety committee, revenue meetings and customer service training
  • Working with onboard partners to ensure retail events are set up and executed in a timely manner, maximizing revenue and guest experience.
