Data Quality

• Regularly conducting data quality checks on the department's exposure data and providing status reports to the Heads of Data, Risk and Compliance for board meetings and regulatory requirements.
• Driving improvements with the relevant stakeholders (Central Data Team and Data Personnel at the UMA) from the outcomes of each exercise.

Loss Reserving

• Collecting, cleaning and ingesting data into ResQ for monthly reserving for four different businesses.
• Setting Risk Adjustments and conducting Actual vs Expected analyses on a quarterly basis, then presenting the results to the Corporate Actuary.
• Generating cashflow patterns for IFRS 17 Run-Offs.
• Reporting results and providing insights to Lead Actuarial Analyst, Corporate Actuary and Head of Finance.

SAM Calculations

• Running quarterly SAM capital calculations and quantifying diversification benefits, mainly for the purpose of calculating solvency charges for our UMAs and identifying areas wherein business processes could be better managed/improved.
• Compiling powerpoint presentations of the insights and presenting the movements & recommendations to the UMAs.

Ad-hoc

• Analyzing the adequacy of License Fees vs how resources are allocated. Identifying where the division has resource shortfalls, what the causes are and suggesting remedies to the department head.
• Providing data support to the Reinsurance renewals process by compiling the quantitative aspects of the renewal packs.
• Using python to help automate redundant processes for the actuarial team and others.
• Assisting with the data queries during audits.
• Proposing ideas for projects that may assist the team in being more efficient.

IFRS 17 Reporting

• Processing data and preparing run-off inputs for IBNR, OCR and Exposure for GMM and setting assumptions.
• Populating IFRS 17 templates and reporting the results to Head of Finance.
• Attending to arising queries and coordinating these between the relevant stakeholders, depending on the nature.

• Assisted the lecturer with creating an efficient learning environment by attending to student's questions during practical sessions.
• For lower priority tests, we assisted the department with setting the question papers.
• Assisted students with selecting the best slots on their timetables for this class.
• Invigilated tests whenever the department requested.
