Assistant Director

  • Responsible for managing the unit of water section, the construction and maintenance of the council's water network, as well as bulk water infrastructure.
  • Inspecting construction sites, network infrastructure, and the water treatment plant.
  • Controlling project costs and maintenance expenditure.
  • Approving the unit (Water) plans, as per the procurement plan, and monitoring the execution of all the activities as per the procurement plan.
  • Attending meetings. (Water loss meeting, Technical meeting, International water balance meetings, Budget meetings).
  • Implementing Council resolutions concerning the water section.
  • Submitting/Writing reports to Council.
  • Attending to queries and complaints from the public/community.
  • Liaising with other departments or departmental managers for infrastructure developments, using different grants/funding.

  • Monitor performance of municipal Programme/Project Management Units and recommend relevant sanctions for under-performance to DCoG. Provide assistance to municipalities in managing municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Provide support to municipalities in the utilization of the MIG-MIS. Monitor and reconcile reported expenditure with proof of payment, signed off by the municipality.
  • Monitor the accuracy of project registration forms and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports from municipalities, and forward them to DCoG. Coordinate district appraisal and progress committee meetings, ensuring that DCoG and relevant sector departments are invited. Issue registration letters for projects approved by the district appraisal committees to municipalities, copying DCoG.
  • Responsible for 212 projects in the Northwest, 70 social infrastructure, 81 roads and stormwater, 48 water and sanitation projects, 7 waste facilities, and 6 local economic development projects.

I started playing bass guitar in 2019, self taught, i play at church and concerts as well. I love travelling during the holidays, with my family and kids.
