• Project Initiation, Determines the nature and scope of the project
• Prepares project charter which must cover business case, financial, risks, deliverables and project resources
• Participate in equipment submittal reviews to help ensure compliance with Project contract documents
• Support all commissioning and qualification activities on the project
• Assist in the generation of a field commissioning and qualification execution schedule to minimize resources required, integrate with construction schedules and maximize system turnover efficiency
• Develop and peer review commissioning and qualification test protocols and summary reports
• Work with the Construction Manager to appropriately sequence the turnover of systems to commence commissioning activities, including coordination of the close out of punch list items
• Coordinate system completion walk-downs
• Train in qualified document system(s) for document control of qualification protocols, change controls and functional specification documents
• Support generation of inspection and test plans for equipment, including approach to integrated FATs and leveraging of testing
• Execute Commissioning and Verification as well as support daily construction activities
• Coordinate with site engineering department to schedule utility system shutdowns, tie-ins and system startup
• Help to develop predictive and preventative maintenance program for site utility systems
• Review turnover packages and ensure that the documentation is accurate and complete and meets specifications

• Works with Operations, other engineers, Technology, Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics to maximize capacity and assure efficient, reliable equipment operation in accordance with all GMP, safety and environmental regulations
• Champions the preventive and predictive maintenance program within your area of responsibility, reviews equipment history for reliability concerns, performs root cause analysis, and identifies reliability improvement opportunities and applications for predictive maintenance technologies to reduce maintenance costs
• Develops maintenance and repair strategy for bi-annual shutdowns
• Assists/leads Operations, maintenance supervisors, mechanics, automation engineers, process engineers and Quality representatives in troubleshooting equipment problems as well as investigating a typical event related to system failure or malfunction
• Serves as the project engineer and manager for small projects including scope development, design support, field execution and commissioning/qualification testing
• Identifies spare parts and stand-by equipment needed to assure maximum capacity and reliability
• Supports maintenance scheduling and planning processes in area of responsibility
• Supports positive safety culture and participates in HAZOP reviews and Safety inspections
• Promotes open communications, inclusion and team work
• Authors Standard Operating Procedures or User Manuals and assists in training development for mechanics and supervisors

• Coordinating (and preferably being able to carry out) maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, as well as other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems so as to ensure safe, reliable, and effective operation of all such systems (which include both general building, research laboratory systems, and manufacturing equipment)
• Coordinating the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory instruments; utilizing in house resources and managing third party contractors
• Support facility improvement projects and equipment installations as needed
• Set up and lead the reliability program for all equipment across multiple customer sites including: Create and run the spare parts inventory
• Facilitate the utilization of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) across multiple sites
• Ensure Preventative Maintenance is performed and documented as required per cGMP regulations
• Create, edit, implement, and train others on SOPs
• Work in a cross-functional team to coordinate and support demands between product manufacturing, regulatory compliance, product demonstrations, and product sales

• Directly oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of utility systems, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, steam generation systems, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, notifier systems, purified water systems, and wastewater treatment systems
• Responsible for planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment
• Manages a team of individual contributors and multi craft Maintenance Technicians and is accountable for conducting effective performance management
• Develops tactical and operational plans for the Maintenance team and supports organizational objectives and business goals by optimizing the productivity and reliability of manufacturing facilities and equipment
• Allocates resources to meet objectives and goals and monitors project plans to ensure on-time production schedules
• Ensures compliance of engineering repair projects with health and safety regulations
• Responsible for managing operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgets
• Supports and/or leads root cause analysis and implementation of robust solutions to downtime issues related to utilities and facility
• Maintains a consistent workflow and productivity of the team, and proactively identifies and resolves operational issues and concerns
• Coaches less experienced staff, recommending plans for continual improvement, and consistently evaluates individual and team performance against operational goals
• Creates and maintains a training program to ensure the team is up to date with the Utilities technology and industry trends
