  • 19 year field work Experience in Agruculture.
  • Farm inspections to identify the available land through maps and SG diagrams; assist with the surveying of the land for identifications of beacons, boundaries and valuation of the farm for the purposes of purchasing price and production value of the land.
  • Working with farmers and clients advising them on land management issues, conservation, conduct soil sampling tell them the type of soil it is on the farm and advise farmers on conducting further soil testing through laboratory for soil confirmation so that they can know and understand the soil suitability of the farm he or she is leasing.
  • Advice farmers on the use of fertilizer, identifications of diseases when there is symptoms, advice the farmer/ lessees to contact veterinary offices if diseases is unknown. Advice on the use of pesticides, control measures on the diseases that are affecting agricultural crops or livestock, Soil Preparation to avoid soil erosion, weeding control, Harvesting and post harvesting of cash crops and agricultural technology to be used. Monitor and evaluate the status of agricultural projects.
  • Render adversary support services to intergovernmental department, clients and farmers on land management issues such as creation of Firebreaks to avoid veld fire. Preventing/ avoid soil erosion when the farmers are busy practicing their agricultural farming activities by the way of creating gabions and not cutting of the trees without approval from the Directorate Forestry, which is within the Department. Avoiding soil damage advise the farmers to divide the farm into different camps to avoid overgrazing and advised the farmers to practice crop rotations and erecting of fence to avoid trace passing of animal or livestock which will lead to over grazing of livestock.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, caretaking of agricultural land to avoid illegal occupancies and register of servitudes if there is a need. Conduct inspection on the drilled or cleaned borehole to check if the service provider worked according to the departmental specification. Updating of movable and immovable assets register for the updating of agricultural state land database and administer of assets losses. Eg pumping machine, Jojo tanks, pipes reservoir, boreholes, agricultural structure
  • Administration of rental collection for the lessees who have entered the leases with the department in order to utilize the agricultural land.
  • The following are the key clients for me to be able to continue with my day to day responsibility: Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, Other directorates, Agricultural industries and non-agricultural industries, Private farmers and state owned farmers/ lessees (Subsistence, Small Holder and commercial), Extension officers, Farmers union, Public Works, Eskom, Private valuers and drilling company
  • Co-ordinate the maintenance, caretaking of state properties by the way of visiting the properties in order to conduct farm inspections, needs analysis, and to conducting inventory control to safe guard the state assets on immovable and movable assets and update database.

  • Facilitate the disposal of Agricultural State land Financial Assistance Land (FALA Properties) Preparing the renewal of Lease contract, PTO and Caretaker agreement, Facilitate the signing of the lease contract, managing of lease contract and other contract when required. Drafting of memorandums, letters, submissions requesting approval to lease the farm to the Minister of Public Works through the route to Minister and other submission when responding to the departmental queries.
  • Preparation of advert to advertise for a vacant land that need to be occupied by land reform beneficiaries, verification of application for applicant applied for the advertised state land after closing date, participate in the source selection process with other stakeholder for appointment of suitable candidates.
  • Arrange meeting when necessary on land management issues and conduct general administration duties like faxing, photocopying, scanning, emailing, files documents, attend to clients queries and give them advises where necessary and refer to relevant stakeholder intergovernmental and with the Department.
  • Check the amount paid by the lessees who are leasing the farms, check payment on the reconstructions of loan that is from Directorate Finance on a monthly bases, write rental letters, to the lessees who owe the department and advise them to pay their rental outstanding before their files been handed over to Legal Services for the recovery of debt.
  • Experience on Land Reform programme, Land Reform policies such as Land Reform (Labour Tenants) Acts no 3 of 1996, Land Administration Act no 2 of 1995, Communal Property Association Act no 28 of 1996, State Land disposal Act no 48 of 1961, Extension of security of Tenure Acts 62 of 1997 and Land Administration Act no 2 of 1995, HRM policies, Fire protection Act, PFMA and supply chain procedure
  • Assist in the appointment of service provider in order to valuate the state farms to determine the market price and production value, erecting of fences, creation of fire breaks to prevent fire, creation of gabions to prevent soil erosion, drilling of boreholes and connection of pipes, checking if the work is done according to the departmental specifications during implementation. Conduct final inspection verifying invoices and recommend payment make follow ups on the issue of payment so that payment can be done within 30 working days.
