I am a hard-working, respectful, compassionate, and determined person who is dedicated to ‘helping’ people; I have a deep love of learning; writing and research have allowed me to grasp various areas of Human Rights that I am passionate about. I have been fortunate enough to study (and learn in various capacities) different elements of what it means, and looks like, to be able to help individuals in the best way that works for them. This journey began in my Honours year at Rhodes University, continuing to an MPhil in the Criminology Department at the University of Cape Town, in 2016. My thesis was concerned with how Congolese bouncers construct their identity and masculinity in, often, contentious spaces. On completion of my MPhil, I was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society. I then worked part-time as a design thinking coach at the Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design Thinking at the University of Cape Town. My learning continued as I completed the BPsych Equivalent (Honours) Programme at the South African College of Applied Psychology. My final (for now) learning journey has been completing my certification as a Life Skills Coach, through The School of Life. My current journey takes the path of a Registered Counsellor, implementing all that I can from all that I have learned and experienced.
