Duties and responsibilities:

• Adherence to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
• Analysing samples by Spark Atomic Emission Spectrometry.
• Inspect the quality of products.
• Calculation of produced daily tonnage and reporting on production reports.
• Rib geometry on rebars.
• Shift handover.

Natural Resources: Metallurgical Laboratory Test Work.

• Comminution (Crushing, Ball and Rod Milling, Splitting, Pulverising, Wet and Dry screening and Grindability tests using the Bond-Ball work index).
• Leaches to determine the dissolution of copper and cobalt and the gangue acid consumption based on the dissolution.
• Leach tests done: Variability tests, Effects of process water, weathered and unweathered samples tests, Effects of residual acid and Two stage leaches for solvent extraction and neutralization tests.
• Magnetic separation test work using LIMS.
• Sample analysis using Satmagan.
• Mass balance.
• Flotation preparation of PGM’s.

Gold Processing:

• Lab Technician: Project work with an aim of improving recoveries.
• Control room operator.
• Monitor and operate equipment such as conveyor belts, screens, mills, pumps and agitators.
• Inventories.
• Update Metal accounting file.
• Actively participate in safety meetings.
• Work flexible hours across day and night, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Comply with SHEQ rules and regulations.
• Maintain a good housekeeping.
