Overall management, co-ordination and facilitation of the implementation of the PHC in the Sub-District

Provide strategic leadership and guidance of service delivery in Primary Health Care in Facilities and District as well as Local Municipalities facilities

Develop, manage, support, monitor and evaluate service delivery in the entire Sub-district

Provide strategic leadership and ensure development of Primary Health programmes namely, Promotive and Preventative Primary Health Care Services in the Sub-District

Participate in the development of District Health Plan.

Responsible for development of the Sub-district Operational Plan.

Supervise support and evaluate subordinates.

• Provide optimal administration, supervision, and operational direction to staff.
• Compile the annual business plan and operational plan.
• Coordinate, support, and monitor the effective and efficient data management processes, according to the DHIMS policy.
• Compile weekly and monthly Phuthuma nerve center reports.
• Consult patients as in when the need arises including the emergency situations.
• Monitor equipment and order according to demand plan.
• Supervise and monitor staff performance in accordance with the performance and management and development system (PMDS).
• Apply effective staff discipline.
• Ensure compliance to Ideal Clinic Realization Framework guideline, norms and standards, policies, regulations, protocols, guidelines and SOP.
• Part of the clinical multidisciplinary teams to uphold the vision and the mission of the department of Health.
• Perform any other delegated duties by Supervisor/Manager.

• Provide Primary Health Care Services.
• Assess, diagnose and administer treatment for minor health conditions, Chronic condition, EPI and IMCI programme and TB management presented in accordance with prescribed norms and standards, guidelines.
• Act as a shift leader in the unit in the absence of the facility manager to ensure compliance to professional and ethical practice.
• Ensure compliance to infection control principles and waste management guidelines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Delegate duties and support staff in the execution of patient care delivery.
• Effective utilization material resources and financial resources.

• Communication with patients, supervisors, and other clinicians.
• Report writing, assist Doctors with ward rounds, administer medication as prescribed and work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care to patients.
