Departmental profitability:

· Monitor and control departmental operational KPI’s for aftermarket sales

· Ensure the department exceeds budgeted operational profit

· Effective lead and give direction to the Project Engineers through planning, organizing, leading and prioritizing

· Continually implement and improve systems in the department (Applying Kaizens tools)

· Ensure that the department comply to all the company governance procedures (SOX)

Contract Management:

· Ensure compilation and pricing of contracts using base or historic pricing for the new contracts on the aftermarket spares.

· Calculate CPA and apply to contract prices using SEIFSA or BEAMA indices

· Approval and compilation of tenders that are above the Project Engineers approval limit for the department

· Compilation of contracts terms and condition using NEC then negotiate commercial and legal terms with the clients for a mutual agreement

· Establish and maintain relationships with clients

· Ensure that the execution of the project is as per the agreed terms and condition meet or exceed the GM

Project and production planning:

· Ensure that Departmental Deliveries are done as per agreed terms and within quoted duration.

· Manage the project integration between Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Finance and Suppliers

· Continually exploring cost reduction opportunities & gross profit improvement, etc.

· Target prospective contracts and maintain customer relationship

· Ensure compliance to SHEQ & Quality systems

DUTIES INVOLVE THE FOLLOWING

· Managing Change Management process

Handling of enquiries:

· Arrange for estimate of projects through commercial department and accept work method statement

Project and production planning:

· Obtain a full set of estimates, plans and contractual documentation for project file

· Prepare project network and review critical path and manage according to critical path

· Ensure all required resources (internal and external) have been committed.

· Review project possible technical/engineering difficulties and obtain technical assessments from engineering departments

Monitoring of quality:

Task Involved:

· Develop and implement outage readiness indicators that will be used by Eskom Generation to measure outage pre-planning.

· Drawing and reviewing of plant flow diagram for inspection and testing department

· Conducted a project on diesel engine which involved stripping and assembling the engine
