- I was leading projects on Power Sites (Khutala, MMS and Klipspruit) and my duties included:
- Interacting with clients daily and find what do they require
- When clients have identified what they need: I drive to site to perform a survey that will identify the resources that will be needed to perform a task, after driving back to office: I perform a link planner (a tool used to check line of sites from one site to another) and identify the height and structure that will be needed for both sites
- I create a quotation based on the needs of the client
- If a client approves the quotation, I gather a team and plan the job according to the return trips charged
- Since I have a vast knowledge on Power sites, I normally interact with Engineers to bring innovative ideas on how we can strengthen the network and upgrade it in a way that in can endure rainy seasons and clients can continue to work without network interruptions due to faulty devices
- I have a vast no knowledge of HSEC online to capture the staff and any documentation required
- I normally assist Hilda and Shenise with Hsec should any of the projects guys needs a certain document pulled out of the system or captured on the system for compliance
- When I am in the office, I Monitor the wireless network for MOS guys and interact with Control room should we pick up a faulty device
- After I perform an installation, I request HCL guys (the Mine service desk) to add the newly installed devices on Solar Winds
- Once the devices are added on Solay Winds, I log-in in 11.45 server to update the drawings so that the new devices appear on our monitoring system
- I collaborate alongside with Stallion technicians who are responsible for all the cameras in power sites, our mutual respect is especially important since our wireless radios are the ones that bring network for their surveillance
- I also have a great relationship with Lunarcom technicians who are responsible for high masts in power sites
- If we need them to lower a mast for us to change a faulty device, they do it easily on my request
- Decomissioning wireless devices from power sites for Comsol.
- Achievements: We finished installation for Pit-D and Pit-F on record time and Sedna received compliments from Andrew Gall: Group Infrastructure & Security Manager (Seriti head office)
