Adept at fostering multicultural awareness and leveraging technical skills, I've spearheaded initiatives at Hear My Story to improve student mental health and engaged deeply with Generation Earth's sustainability events. My leadership and Excel proficiency have driven positive community impacts, showcasing my ability to serve diverse communities effectively and reliably.
I contributed my time to the local library near my place of residency in the month of June 2023. The experience was insightful, inspiring and enjoyable. The duties delegated to me were to tidy the library's study room, help students with their homework and to organise the books into their designated shelves. These tasks have helped me to develop organisational and communication skills, while simultaneously equipping me with insight regarding the community I resided in.
Reading has been my favourite hobby since I picked up the first book I ever read - Dork Diaries. My collection of books is diverse and has developed as I grow and mature; currently, the collection of books is at 30 and counting. The aspect I love about reading is that an individual can escape their current reality and still extract lessons from a fictional character which they can apply to reality. My favourite book genres are: coming of age novels, psychological thriller and romantic comedy novels. Currently, I am reading Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - it is a coming of age novel that follows the life of Fifteen-year-old Kambili and her older brother Jaja lead a privileged life in Enugu, Nigeria. It explores the themes of Colonialism, Religion and Family. I have learnt that the notions of classism have roots from colonialism and a domino effect on religion and how people relate to each other. Ultimately, reading is a very good hobby that I practice often and it continues to transform me to be a better person in society.
