I am a result-driven CA(SA) with 19 years’ experience. I am a Registered Auditor and Certified Fraud examiner. I thrive mainly in challenging environments, and I adapt to change easily as I think of different solutions prior to implementation. My key strength is collaboration with my team, and I love sharing knowledge with my team to ensure in every instance there is business continuity at all times. During the earlier years of my career I gained majority of my experience in planning and supervising performance of external audits in both private and public sector environments while working at PwC for 11.5 years (from Jan 2005 till May 2016).During this period I managed multiple projects and teams and ensured that all the deadlines agreed upon with the clients are met. While at PwC I was responsible as the human capital and performance management for junior managers and trainees. I developed a system in place to manage the assessment of SAICA training requirements for trainees and ensured that all sign offs were done timely by trainees and assessors. As an audit investigator I assisted the IRBA in reducing the backlog of the investigation cases by ensuring performing multiple investigations with high level of accuracy resulting in conclusion of the matters in less than 12 months compared to IRBA’s normal target of 18.While at IRBA I performed a research on sanctions and completed the project within a period of 8 months which was approved by the Board and resulted in changes in the legislature i.e. Auditing Profession Act. During my tenure as an Audit director at Ngubane & Co (Jhb) Inc I was promoted to the Head of Risk Compliance and Ethics within 1 year of joining the firm and was directly reporting to the CEO and a member of EXCO. As part of this role I developed new policies and procedures which were adopted by the firm resulting in the improved quality of training offered to trainees and the quality of the audit files. Furthermore, as part of the implementation of the ISQM, we developed the risk assessment framework and implemented within the firm the revised governance framework. Using my advanced negotiation and communication skills I worked with all parties to ensure that the merger agreement between Ngubane & Co (Johannesburg) and RSM South Africa was finalized and agreed upon by all parties. As Head of Risk and Strategic quality and Head of Ethics and Independence at RSM South Africa, I continue with my roles of overseeing firm quality management processes and also formulating the risk management and governance framework. Since the appointment date I have ensured that appropriate policies and procedures are implemented and also implemented monitoring controls to ensure appropriate quality improvement is achieved. I am an individual who enjoys being challenged in the work environment and have over the years improved my education by studying short courses in business writing, Contract drafting and Business risk management to ensure I am able to perform my work effectively. As part of the Executive leadership program, we did various courses which I believe would assist me in taking the role leadership role in any organization. As part of the executive leadership program, we did a global emersion by vising India specifically in Bengaluru and visited the India Reserve Bank. This assisted in learning how the bank has improved the technology used within the financial services sector and improved the financial literacy amongst the illiterate within the country by building in the financial inclusion programs through community projects. This program assisted further in challenging me to believe all can be done with appropriate planning. Given my experience and practical skills since joining RSM I have been nominated on various Global Executive Projects. Within RSM South Africa we are currently in the processes of automation of our processes, and we have identified a key supplier for the firm to assist in achieving the intended objective which will results in significant efficiencies for the firm an improved service delivery internally to our people and externally to clients. I believe the skills I have obtained to date will assist me and my next employer in achieving its objectives.
