PROCESS AND OPERATIONS SUPERINTENDENT FOR DB17

  • Main achievement done in this position, from November 2019 until today.
    I was involved in many topics related to the 4 FPSOs of DB17
    DB17
    I’m currently the HIPS champion of Total Angola.
    I participated with my back-to-back to the elaboration of the Annual HIPS Report for B17. I performed many meetings along the year to clarify and give support to Smart room and Site about the HIPS tests status and performance, I coordinated with sites the data collection and alerted them on missing tests and drifting KPIs.
    I also contributed to improve safety records on sites by a close follow-up of HIPS testing performance and he ensured to provide feedback and improvement ideas to site.
    As part of Production Support department digital and simplification initiatives, I participated to the construction of Dashboard for B17 FPSOs HIPS tests and the initiative was shared with DSP/QP
    I participated on LOPA exercise with DHSAP team for DALIA HIPS optimization and I was the leader for DGS renewal for ESDVs Leak testing on B17.
    I’m performing a regular follow-up on sand levels on topside vessels on GIR, DAL, PAZ and CLV FPSOs giving advice to Field Technologist on how to perform the calculation of sand levels and conclude on the way forward.
    I performed the study of spinning reserves on GIR and DAL and prepared the guidelines for the real test to be performed to stop on TG in one FPSO.
    I contributed to the preparation of the new 3 years contract: I ensured the clarification of the technical points with bidders as well as their technical ranking prior to Contract Committee. I also assessed the requirement for a desanding campaign in 2021 by analyzing the vessel thermography performed on site. I also sent guidelines to sites to perform the scanning in a proper way to avoid any misinterpretation of results. I contributed actively to the implementation of the new online desanding contract and shown an excellent capacity to manage the different interfaces with the different entities.

    GIRASSOL:
    I ensured the Coordination of 2023 online desanding campaign: Site survey, Support to ALTRAD, run test at ALTRAD Yard, progress meeting. This campaign performed in July 2023 was safe and efficient campaign.
    I gave assistance to the event of P20 of GIRASSOL (Rupture of the line). I provided technical support to the Crisis cell during the occurrence of the event and participated to the brainstorming sessions performed with SR and site. I participated also to the CTA and elaborated the procedure for the P20 line flushing and preservation.
    I gave a support to site on the strategy for COT4S inerting with IG and connection to COT vent compressor.
    I issued the procedure for depressurization for GIR hydrate removal on Export line.
    I did also investigation on the GIR LP/MP compressor operation to reduce the recycle and limit fouling.
    I gave assistance to perform the test on GIRASSOL to reduce the export compressor discharge pressure and helped the process engineer on the analysis of the results and to conclude.

    DALIA:
    I currently preparing the Clean up to FPSO (DALIA FPSO)
    I successfully coordinated the field tests on Dalia EC-3220A/B Temperature reduction for GHG saving on DAL crude oil heater.
    I participated on the preparation of Dalia Phase 4 - 1st Stage Separator three-phase test

    PAZFLOR:
    I coordinate on site the attempts to restart P20 on Pazflor without pumps, with gas lift in reverse flow.
    I participated also to the HAZOP performed for P20 gas lift injection through the SSU unit.
    I did several site visits, to provided support for several topics like ZNA-524 instabilities, Troubleshooting/Verification of LP/MP compressor flowrate vs compressor capacity and troubleshooting of riser instability to avoid flaring from MP separator.
    I participated to the PQLA of PAZFLOR, I specifically addressed the reduction of fuel gas super heater temperature in order to optimize the heater duty and hence reduce related GHG emissions. I worked also on the water Injection Pumps discharge pressure reduction. This was successfully achieved. I did a reduction of stripping gas for TEG regeneration, and I presented to the CFR seminar - TEG Optimization in Block 17 for GHG saving. This action allowed to reduce routine flaring by around 9 Ksm3/d for the block.
    I gave valuable support to the performance test done on PAZFLOR SSU P10 line (recycle closure), it allows to set up clear way forward, and I also prepared the RFM as well as the presentation for COVAL.

    CLOV:
    I addressed several topics like Site visit for TEG carry-over troubleshooting on CLOV, GSD Train A: Support given to SR and site, Issuance of procedure to clean gas line upstream of PCHEs EM-3010A & 3140A. For scale issues on CLOV, I reviewed the alarm setting on the strainers and the switch over sequence of the pumps allowing to reduce the frequency of filters clogging and cleaning
    I also did CLOV Offshore mission for discharge pressure reduction on HP2/HP3 Compressor, and the WIP for GHG saving. @ 17,94 kton CO2eq/ year saved.
    I contributed to the elaboration of basis of study for Baker for the review of LP1/2 compressor of CLOV, I discussed with vendor in different steps of the study, and proposed adjustments to mimic actual conditions. LP1/2 compressor is currently running in full auto mode. All the issues are solved.
    I also proposed a modification on the load shedding system of CLOV related to SWT: in case of SWLP trip, to avoid any production shut down by cascade, SWT units will be load shed following a dedicated sequence.

    Other responsibility of this position

    Ensure process support to Field operations teams to minimize shortfalls and flaring during campaigns and Shutdown
    Act as the liaison of the production support department with the site/Smart Rooms in a consulting basis.
    Aid on the modifications related to facilities and safety barriers
    Participate to the HAZID/HAZOP, Safety reviews and Cause Tree Analysis
    Follow up of the HIPS testing performances and issuing the annual HIPS KPIs to HQ (HIPS champion of TEPA)
    Ensure assistance to Sites and Smart Rooms for complex troubleshooting
    Follow‐up performance tests and specific offshore campaign (i.e., online desanding) on site as a representative of the production support department.
    Ensure that the ESD, depressurization, ESDV, and HIPPS tests performed by Field operations are as per TEPA referential
    Act as referent in term of process troubleshooting within the department and within the field operations teams.
    Rotational position based in Luanda with frequent offshore missions.

PAZFLOR FIELD ENGINEER (Field Technologist)

  • Contribute to monthly environmental reporting. Ensure both TotalEnergies Group and EP Referential and Total EP Angola local procedures related to HSE are applied within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Manage Downgraded Situations (DGS) analysis and action plans on site within his/her perimeter ensuring that related standing instructions are in force and communication visible on site.
  • Participate to Risk Evaluation processes (JRA …). Contribute for safety test execution and reporting.
  • Contribute during notification process in the definition of SD type required for TBR/CUS/CUI execution prior final validation by site. Ensure timely HIPPS, ESDV, EDV, BDV tests execution & reporting
  • Ensure proper daily reporting of production & injection figures as well as shortfalls (MAP/MAI) classifications. Issue SD reports (preliminary & final). Monitor and propose daily optimization for the process and production operating parameters to ensure all possible improvements are identified and implemented. Daily monitoring and optimization of C-factors and water treatment system. Responsible for alarm management and inhibition review process (meeting) on site (with ICSS & PROD SPV), as well as action plans definition and follow-up with the SMART Room.
  • Participate in plant troubleshooting and SD analysis by providing site inputs to SMART Rooms for further investigations (SD reports, etc..), and ensure with other site members implementation of defined actions.
  • Ensure daily chemical treatment monitoring and reporting, including corrosion treatment, and contribute to monthly treatment review (interface with lab for testing & analysis).
  • Contribute to track any deviation from daily production target, contribute to optimization proposal of WS/ Riser/Gas-lift and ensure proper implementation through control room.
  • Responsible of well tests (PBU, riser test…) planning and execution. Contribute to well valves tests, priority definition and planning and ensure proper reporting in WIMT PELOTON by coordinating CCR technician activities. Implement OCWR settings change, be involved in well start-up procedure update (restart) or definition (new well) and related OCWR settings.

PRODUCTION ENGINEER (WITHIN SMART ROOM)

  • Permanently control the operating parameters of the facilities through the DCS and with direct field information by outdoor operators
  • Adjust the set points within the permissible limits to optimize the performance of the facilities
  • Lead and/or execute the operations authorized by the Shift Supervisor/CM according to validated procedures and/or specific instructions. Coordinate with field operators the shutdown operations and the re-start of equipment/units.
  • In case of Emergency, the CCR is part of the EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN- Operation group and acts as CCR Process or Fire & Gas as directed by the RO.
  • Verify the status of all inhibitions at each shift and crew change.
  • Highlight miss-functions, compile data and contribute to diagnosis, reporting and corrective action plans as requested by the Production Superintendent.
  • Write detailed operational procedure (OPERGUID) and keep them updated considering feedback and the variations of operating parameters.
  • Identify the solutions for optimization in terms of H.S.E, organization, availability, and maintainability, reduced technical cost Site Management
  • Coordination of the process control operations both from the control room and on the facilities in line with design limitations of the facilities and the HSE rules.

  • In the zone under his responsibility, act as Operator. - Check to see equipment/unit is running properly - Carry out testing at regular intervals - Monitor injection of chemicals and report consumption.
