I, Joshua Alexander Franks, hails from Okiep in the Namakwa district - Northern Cape Province - where I completed my secondary schooling at SA van Wyk Secondary before pursuing tertiary studies at the University of Stellenbosch obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1999. I furthered my studies obtaining various certificates and a Diploma in Human Resources and a Bachelor of Public Administration Honours (BPAHons); with specialisation in Local Governance. I enrolled for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the University of Stellenbosch which remains incomplete. I am a passionate, hardworking, results-oriented individual who has gained extensive knowledge, experience, and skills in both public and private sector during a career spanning over 22 years. I commenced my career as a banking clerk and Retail Consultant at two leading banking groups in South Africa. This I followed up by venturing into the political arena as an organiser for the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Namakwa before taking up a position as Operations head at the Northern Cape Youth Development Agency (NCYDA). My career turned to the private sector as a consultant and project manager providing advice and solutions to various Government institutions and State-Owned Entities (SOE’s). I entered public sector as a Senior Researcher at the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature (NCPL) where I continue to work but shifted to the political office as Manager since July 2014. All this experience culminated in my ability to solve complex problems using project management methodologies and approaches. I remain an active learner of organisational dynamics and environments in pursuit of organisational enhancement.
