Description of duties in the Real Estate Department
Advising on property related issues;
- Advising on commercial and litigious matters related to property;
- Notarial preparation of general and special notarial bonds; servitudes, long term leases and sub-leases, antenuptial contracts and notarial deeds of cancellation;
- Attending to the drafting and preparation for the registration of transfers, mortgage bonds and bond cancellations (both private persons and commercial);
- Signature of private bank clients and transfer clients;
- Drafting of commercial and residential agreements relating to property transactions (e.g. sale agreements and lease agreements);
- Drafting of resolutions for companies, close corporations and trusts;
- Drafting of general and special powers of attorney;
- Preparation for the registration of bonds (both movable and immovable property);
- Legal research and preparation of legal opinions on property related issues;
»Attending to paperwork pertaining to various applications to the Deeds Office (e.g. for amendments on title deeds and bond documents, lost title deeds and mortgage bonds);
»Attending to bond registrations on behalf of banks;
- Handling and finalizing financial matters relating to the registration of transfers;
- Attending meetings and negotiating property transactions on behalf of clients; and
- Preparing due diligence reports in relation to mergers and acquisitions transaction;

Taking instructions and consultations with clients;
- Conducting litigious related legal research;
- Drafting legal opinions, documentation, notices and pleadings;
- Conducting due diligence of various entities;
- Briefing Counsel;
- Noting judgments;
- Attendance of arbitration and mediation proceedings; and
- Serving and filing of court documents.
