  • In 2012 I was employed by SA French, the scope of our business was mainly tower cranes and building rack and pinion hoists, passenger, and material
  • We had a fleet of various types of Potain and Liebherr tower cranes from topless city cranes like
  • MDT 98s or MCT88s to your bigger cranes like MD310s, MD285s and then our Chinese import cranes like our MC (k mast) 310s
  • We had a fleet of self-erecting cranes as well, i.e., IGO 22, IGo28, and IGO50s
  • Another part of our business is the building hoists we stock TORGAR material hoist i.e., T3 1.5T3 2.0 and ourT3 2.5s and our Chinese imports i.e., GJJ SC200 and SC320, then our Alimak, Scando series where I did erections, maintenance and breakdowns while managing a team of technicians
  • One of our recent projects was the Medupi and Kusile power stations in South Africa
  • In 2018 the company closed its doors due to the current economic climate.

  • I managed a team of employees that ensured that preventative maintenance; breakdowns were done safely and diligently
  • Maintenance staff were issued a pre generated job card of maintenance that needed to be done that day and they ensured that it was done, and the job card returned to me to be filed according to ISO standard., me and my subordinates were part of the erecting crew that installed the baggage handling system
  • My team consisted of fitters, electricians, and boilermakers
  • We were issued installation diagrams and a timeline of when the installation was to be completed
  • The installations consisted of AC motors frequency drives, x ray machines, vertical sorters, S7 Siemens PLC’S all working of

  • April 2009, we started with the commissioning of the system and went live in June 2009
  • My moto in life is that no task will ever be too big or too small to do and that one is never too old to learn
  • I am fully computer literate and excel and word are part of our daily use, office power point was used to do presentations when necessary and office outlook for mails
  • I used a preventative maintenance program called Ultimo and Pragma that generates preventative maintenance job cards for different areas in the plant that needs to be inspected and maintained daily weekly and monthly.

  • Slip rings were installed at both ends of the kiln to prevent excessive wear to the kiln and needed to be inspected daily and if necessary, replaced.
