  • FCCU/CDU/VDU/Jet Merox: Monitored process unit online equipment during shift.
  • Assist with material handling activities such as catalyst loading, organizing and chemical additives to the unit.
  • Safely troubleshooting, maintaining and assisting in preparation of mechanical equipment including pneumatic valves, pumps, compressors, cooling fan motors, drive motors and drive turbines, instrumentation devices, etc.
  • Ensure that all activities in the day-to-day operation is carried out in a safe manner to ensure safety and protection of personnel and equipment.
  • Commissioning and de-commissioning of process equipment during T&I/ turnarounds.
  • Performed daily “eye-ball equipment checks in the field, noting leaks, vibrations, or unusual sounds on critical rotating equipment like viscous bottom pumps and Main Air Blower, and raising pre-emptive work orders.
  • Trained new Field operators on the “feel” of the units, teaching them to correlate DCS screen data with physical plant behaviour - like how a change compressor sound indicates a surge point.
  • Conducted safe unit isolations and plant shutdowns for maintenance, personally verifying valve positions via field walks and installing spectacle blinds as per LOCK-out-Tag out protocols.
  • Managed the caustic circulation and air injection to sweeten jet fuel during Dump and make-up of caustic to ensure fuel specification are met.
  • Translate field conditions (valve positions, pump sounds, sight glass levels) to the DCS console operator and vice-versa.

  • Operate a Blackheath Water Treatment Plant of 400Ml/day by using Androit automation plant control application, Scada and PLC.
  • As a Control room operator, I’m responsible to regularly check and verify laboratory results to ensure water results meets the required water qualities.
  • Troubleshooting and repair malfunctioning of sand filter beds after hours.
  • Commission and de-commission auxiliary plants and equipment eg.; Power activated carbon dosing plant, CO2 dosing facility, Cl2 disinfection facility, and Standby Generator in the event of power failure.
  • Monitor equipment performance, resolving breakdowns and carry out basic maintenance.
  • Removing and replacing CL2 dosing cylinders using pendant controlled overhead crane
  • Compile and capture deviations in shift logs as to ensure proper shift handover and accurate flow of information.

  • Start-up and safely shut down Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines and Coal plant surveyors, compressors, condensers, deaerators, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.

  • Starts up, operates, and shuts down of DC Arc furnace, Rotary Kiln and auxiliary equipment.
