Hi, I’m

Joanne de Jonge

Patensie
Joanne de Jonge

Summary

From starting as a teacher in 1997 to educating my children at home in 2024 I have gone full circle through the education system. I have been designing learning and teaching resources from the get go, resourcing as much from others as I could and creating for myself as and others. I helped start the Future-Fun CAPS (https://www.ffcaps.co.za/Products/) curriculum by producing LTSM for gr 4-7 Mathematics.

I have seen how technology has transformed the world of education and love being a part of it. I am bilingual (Afrikaans and English) with hight levels of competency in both languages. As homeschool facilitator I have a Twinkl account and have used several of the materials available. I would love to become part of this team and assist in making the material available in Afrikaans.

    Personal Traits

I am a person who is self motivated, setting myself goals and filling the needs as they arise in any situation. I have a strong drive for improvement. I thrive on the thrill of seeing people grow and prosper under my supervision. I love to see how they learn new things and try to make learning a positive experience at all times. I'm a firm believer that all people have the ability to learn something and show progress and that with positive motivation and a safe comfortable environment all people will reach their full potential and new personal heights.

I am a reborn Christian and I live my life by the example of my Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He guides me and equips me for the taks He sets before me.  I strive to do what I do to glorify Him.

I love the art and culture scene, and being creative plays an important role in my life. I love to relax with a good book and find pleasure in what I see around me. With my family, I spend a lot of my free time mountain-biking, kayaking, scuba diving or just taking a walk along the beach. Travelling, seeing new places, is another one of my great loves while building memories is priceless.
