• To prepare a budget which will be approved by Council which, will to a large extend, address the issues raised by the Communities through the IDP (Integrated Development Plan)
• Participation in all planning sessions as dictated by the office of the City Manager and the Executive Mayor along with other Senior Management of the Organisation
• Participation in other Council forums as maybe prescribed from time to time
• Planning of new and upgrading of current or existing infrastructure network
• Preparation of specifications required for the design of roads and stormwater infrastructure network
• Provision and control of the usage of way leaves
• Liaison with other spheres of government, non-governmental organisations and the private sector as may be prescribed by the organisation
• Leading a team of Engineers and Technicians charged with the responsibility of the delivery of acceptable roads and stormwater infrastructure network
• Coordination of designs of infrastructure network along with other disciplines and project team members
• In this Department I was responsible for 289 Employees
• In 2016 the Municipality took over the responsibility of Devertsdorp, Wepener, Vanstadensrus in the South Western side of Bloemfontein and Soutpan in the North Western side of Bloemfontein, thereby making the area of responsibility a lot bigger with more communities to service.

• Preparation of the division’s capital budget aligned with the IDP for the delivery of the planned infrastructure.
• Provides strategic and technical management of the Water, Sanitation, Scientific Services and Water Services authority Department
• Develops key performance indicators and target for the Water and Sanitation department.
• Preparation of the Operations and Maintenance budget required for the upkeep and maintenance of Water & Sanitation infrastructure network as well as human capital.
• Exploring new innovative and more cost-effective methods of water & sanitation and maintenance. Ensuring that the allocated budget is spend in accordance with relevant legislation. Over expenditures and/or under expenditures should be fully accounted for.
• Was responsible for over 350 Employees, comprising Engineers and Technicians as well as general workers.

Assumed the responsibility of Manager – Roads and Stormwater following the amalgamation of Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thaba – Nchu Town
Council to form Mangaung Local Municipality.

• Communicated clearly with employees, suppliers and stakeholders to keep everyone on same page and working toward established business goals.

Joined the then Bloemfontein City Council as one of the four Assistant City Engineers responsible for the construction and maintenance of Roads and Stormwater

Assumed the responsibility of Town Engineer for Maseru City Council.

Worked as Assistant Town Engineer Maseru Town Council and during this time, Attended a Three-Months course on Roads Maintenance in Harare Zimbabwe.

• Expanded professional knowledge base by staying current with industry advancements, trends, codes, and best practices in civil engineering design and construction methods
• Improved construction quality by closely monitoring on-site activities and providing regular progress reports

• Collaborated with engineering team to determine project specifications
• Studied corrections from senior engineers to learn and grow professionally
