I am hard-working and strive to learn continually. From an early age, I have had an interest in Game Design and Engineering. I pursued a degree in Computer Science, with my additional modules in Applied Mathematics and Computer Vision.
In my spare time, I tend to lead a busy life. I enjoy languages and am currently learning French. I have also developed quite a love for physics and mathematics and regularly spend time studying mathematical/physical topics. I offer tutoring in programming and mathematics and often practice coding on websites such as CodeWars and HackerRank.
Lastly, I spend what brain power I have left on developing my own games (or learning some new software/framework; currently Salesforce). I strive to be in a team on the cutting edge of technology, and I want our work to make a difference (or at least provide me with the skills to one day achieve this).
This is a fully remote position, where we hold daily standups with majority of the team for increased cohesion as well as to encourage teamwork. Here, I performed the following:
I work on academic research papers, which include conference papers, dissertations, original articles, etc. Most papers I work on are written by non-native speakers (generally professors belonging to a university or research committee), and thus, I am responsible for correcting grammar, vocabulary, and logical flow of information (often including formatting according to the requirements of a target journal).
The research topics fall within the fields of computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, and biomedical; thus, I often have to conduct my own research to properly fulfil the requirements as set out by my position and the needs of clients; many of my work orders require that I write a letter to the target journal so as to motivate the study, its significance, and why it should be accepted by the said journal.
I worked as an entry-level software developer for this young-cultured VR/AR startup. I initially interned here, where I was responsible for the maintenance, upgrading, and reskinning of a suite of mobile apps (think gym/exercise apps) that integrate with an exercise machine (Xamarin, Firebase, C#, iOS, Android).
After officially joining Sozo, I worked on some AR and VR apps (as well as continued development on the exercise apps); mostly face-overlay-type filters in Unity3D using OpenCV plugins for AR and making the existing company VR apps demonstration ready (for presentation to potential investors). An example is a VR tour guide of the Meerkat telescope array, which a sibling company was responsible for.
