Some colleagues call me crazy , others call me loyal ,committed , dedicated . It depends how you see the privilege of being employed.
I also see myself as all of the crazy - crazy about plastic .My most important factor ,my full intention, is to add VALUE . Value to the Company , value to the manufacturing process, value to the staff and upgrading their knowledge , as well as sharing my knowledge by implementing what is right for the company’s future .
I want to establish the right foundation for your staff, starting from the Cleaner , the operator , the setters , the supervisor, everyone that is relevant to my department. This means Standard Operating Procedures ,that is vital to our industry. SOP’s can only be successful if there is a certain discipline in place. And lets agree to disagree, but everything in the world resolves around a certain discipline.
Discipline does not need to be harsh or dictatorial , but it needs to be a certain standard that is understandable ,accepted and managed.
I firmly believe in my own introduced Training system ,TRUC , to upgrade all employees to our high level of expertise:
· TEACH the employee what you require
· READ your documents to see what is require
· UNDERSTAND what is required and where it is applied to
· COMPLY with what is required.
Even though I am supposed to work a 9 hour day , my own discipline allows me to work until the work is done . There is no timeframe around my day, and after 28 years, my work day is still 12 hours or more , and I still insist that a nightshift calls me if any problems occur. One thing about Manufacturing is that you are always on duty.
Quality is one of the major factors that will sell our product, and Im steadfast that proper Works Instructions , Packaging Instructions and Product Specifications and BOM’s be always updated and available to guide both quality and operator in the right direction.
The fact that we are in a Manufacturing Facility does not give or allow anything to be disorganized. All aspects of our manufacturing process can easily comply to a Lean Manufacturing process, yet discipline in embracing and maintaining it will be the key to success.
While I will never oversell myself , I cant sell myself short either. I have the ability , experience and knowledge to resolve most problems in the molding facility, from machine setting to raw materials, mold repairs and assistance , and when my answers does not line up , I embrace advice and assistance. One great part of molding is that you are never to old or bright to learn more.
I do speak with passion yet I maintain my pose at all times , even in conflict , when tempers can flare. I have dealt a great deal with Unions in the past , and is not afraid to defend the company within the framework of our Main Agreement .The company remains the major asset , and several livelihoods depend on it , thus is the company always main priority.
I consider myself as dual purpose employee , who can excel with administrative as well as technical duties.
