To Whom It May Concern, most likley istanbul or mosso

I am writing to express my interest in a job shadowing opportunity at your restaurant. I am currently a Grade 11 student at King David Victory Park High School, where I take History, Science, and Drama. I’m deeply interested in learning more about restaurant management, and I admire the success and professionalism of your establishment.

Although I’m still in high school, I have hands-on experience in the restaurant environment. I’ve previously helped manage a restaurant, including customer communication and day-to-day tasks. I also have entrepreneurial experience from running my own small business, where I sold masks, hand sanitizer, and jewelry during the pandemic.

I am passionate about understanding how successful businesses like yours are managed—from staff coordination to service quality. I bring strong out-of-the-box thinking, the ability to stay calm under pressure, excellent time management skills, and a strong work ethic. I believe a shadowing experience at your restaurant would give me invaluable insights into the real-world skills needed to succeed in this field.

Thank you for considering my request. I would appreciate the opportunity to observe and learn from your team. I am available for a shadowing experience at your convenience and can be reached at 067 154 1815.

Sincerely,
Jaedone Zaken

Reflection Essay

Compiling my CV for the first time was a surprisingly eye-opening experience. At first I thought it would just be about listing the basics like where I go to school, what subjects I take, and any work I’ve done. But as I started putting everything together I realized it was actually a chance to look back at what I’ve done so far and understand how much I’ve learned along the way.

One of the biggest things I noticed while working on my CV was how much real-life experience I already have. Even though I’m still in Grade 11 at King David Victory Park High School, I’ve helped manage a restaurant and worked directly with customers. I also started a small business during the pandemic where I sold masks, hand sanitizer and jewelry. Before writing my CV I hadn’t really stopped to think about how much those experiences taught me. Now I see how they helped me build useful skills like communication, time management and problem solving, which are important in any job.

At the same time writing my CV made me realize there are some gaps I want to work on. One of them is that I don’t have many formal qualifications or certificates yet. I’d like to take some short courses or workshops to build on what I’ve learned through experience, especially in business or hospitality. I also want to improve my digital and computer skills. I can do the basics but I know there’s a lot more I could learn, especially things like Excel or social media tools that many companies use every day.

If I looked at my CV as a recruiter I think I’d see someone who’s motivated, creative and not afraid to take initiative. I’ve already had a taste of the working world and I’ve shown that I’m willing to put in the effort and try new things. My experience running a business and helping in a restaurant shows that I can handle pressure and take responsibility. But I also think a recruiter would notice that I still have room to grow, especially when it comes to more technical skills and formal education, and that’s something I’m aware of and ready to work on.

Overall putting together my CV helped me understand myself better. It made me realize that I’ve already done quite a lot but also reminded me how important it is to keep growing and learning. It gave me more confidence in what I have to offer and showed me the areas I still need to improve. I’m excited to keep building on this foundation and see where it takes me in the future.
