The IT Business Delivery Partner is a key role between an assigned Santam Re-Inusrance and Santam Partner Solutions business units and the I.T. organisation. Within the role assist the business units in devising the most appropriate technological strategy to enable profitable growth for the businesses I'm also responsible for overseeing the delivery needs of the assigned business units in alignment with the overall IT and organizational strategy.

This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and effective collaboration with both business and IT stakeholders.

I'm participating in the Business Unit Exco and forming strong relationships with all members of the Exco. It also requires collaboration with the other IT Business Delivery Partners and Platform owners in the IT organisation.

I'm also providing team leadership and management responsibilities, including mentoring, management of allocation to projects, monitoring the team's performance and utilisation on assigned projects, do performance appraisals, identify training and development opportunities aligned to the agreed competency model, completing administrative functions required by line management and handling complaints; this will also require reporting into management on resource matters.

• HEAD SANTAM’S DATA MANAGEMENT – lead a team of 30 SQL developers and data analysts, oversee data quality and data governance, innovation, budgets and development of solutions
• Determine business needs and opportunities, identify, develop, introduce and deliver new data-related technologies
• Domain Expertise in Play: Enterprise Architecture Master Data Management Meta Data Data Quality, Governance Software Development
• Play a lead role within the new Santam BI Architecture team, leading the enterprise into the future, introducing new data-enabled capabilities
• Lead the Data Management department for IFRS17 project implementation, end-to-end
• This includes creation of a Data Lake, with solutions such as Hadoop
• Set up a data steward structure across call centres to improve data quality
• Lead creation of a Group Information Management framework
• Spearheaded development and implementation of one of South Africa’s first Master Data Management System (EBX5) and a meta-data repository
• Managed development for implementation of a Group procurement system – from RFP process and product customization through implementation
• Produce monthly data quality reports
• Created and implemented a front-end for contact centres to access E-natis.

• LED consulting relationships and process innovation projects with enterprises such as Santam and Medi-Clinic – selling projects, orchestrating delivery.

• Modelled ‘to-be’ financial processes for Oracle Release 12
• Modelled Group operating manual into the process repository; modelled ‘to-be’ fin.hub service management processes; and assisted in process maturity measurements.

• LED the Business & Process Analysis team (23 Business Analysts)
• Set up the Business & Process Centre of Excellence to serve the IT delivery supply chain and following the Santam IT SDLC, policy, architecture and standards.

• HEADED a team of up to 10, spearheaded sales, proposals and client relationships and delivery of projects in the process portfolio
• Projects included: Enterprise Architecture for ABSA Capital IT, Business Architecture for ABSA Wealth, Business Architecture for Barclays SAP Global HR.

• SPEARHEADED engagement and project delivery for clients such as Nedcor Group Technology, Swisscard (Switzerland), Barclaycard Business Process Engineering in the UK, First National Bank, Nedcor Card Division, and Medscheme.
