Role

In my role as an Integration Engineer, I am responsible for designing and building further integrations using our iPaaS platform. Leveraging a low-code/no-code design system, I am able to rapidly iterate and ship integrations to facilitate our growing customer base in transferring data seamlessly. I am deeply involved in evaluating and integrating solutions such as Outlook to address the diverse needs of our clients. When Engagement Cloud's API surface doesn't suffice for supporting these integrations, I work collaboratively with the team to extend APIs as appropriate. In addition, I collaborate closely with Product Managers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and a diverse group of talented team members within our Product Engineering team. I mainly work within Tray.io's low-code environment, which offers drag-and-drop functionality, while also requiring scripting for achieving optimal performance and efficiency. As we constantly integrate with new platforms, I familiarize myself with them and review their technical documentation to determine the most effective way to address the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities:

I participate in daily stand-up scrum meetings with my team and take part in fortnightly retrospectives, sprint reviews, and sprint planning sessions. I have a good understanding of the integrations built by the team and am responsible for delivering new integrations and improvements in line with the team's estimates. Investigating and documenting 3rd party APIs is also part of my duties, as is developing new integrations according to our design guidance.

I ensure that changes are committed to source control and collaborate with the wider team to identify any changes needed for the API. I work closely with IPaaS partners and solution consultants to deliver high-quality, performant integrations. Additionally, I actively use and maintain our Wiki.

Before moving to QA, I ensure all work is thoroughly tested. I maintain a positive attitude towards any problems that may arise and am proactive in solving them, reaching out to other teams when needed.

Technical Skills

• I am proficient in using scripting or programming languages to develop new integrations.· I utilize my understanding of data modeling to create efficient data structures and relationships.
• I apply my knowledge of efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms to optimize integration performance.
• I implement batch processing techniques and efficient API usage for large-scale data operations.
• I leverage my experience working with IPaaS systems, such as Zapier, IFTT, Blendr, Tray.io, ReTool, or Microsoft's Power Platform, to build robust integrations.
• I am familiar with a diverse range of technologies, including REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML, and OAuth2, and use them as required in new integrations.
• I draw on my experience working within a scrum team (GIT, PRs, scrum, agile, etc), ideally a remote-first team, to effectively contribute and collaborate with the team.
