The report assisted the country to develop a health systems-based conceptual framework to guide a review process that identifies bottlenecks and gaps to inform the scaling up of nutrition-related activities, and also to identify critical health system constraints necessary for scaling up nutrition-related activities. The findings of the report led to the development of the Roadmap for Nutrition in South Africa.
  • Provided technical inputs to the National Primary Health Care package for South Africa on maternal and infant and young child nutrition services.
  • Developed an inter-sector food and nutrition security implementation plan to respond to high rates of under and overnutrition in South Africa. Involved in the SADC HIV and AIDS in-country Steering Committee on cross-border Nutrition and HIV/AIDS Research project.

  • Collaborated and partnered with the milling industry in South Africa on the development and implementation of the food fortification programme.
