Summary

Started working in 1996 as an Apprentice Shutter and Hand Carpenter for Stocks & Stocks Building for 3 years. I was responsible for implementing ground beam columns, decks & staircases, learning of formwork & bracing of shutters. Successfully completing my apprenticeship, I was offered a career advancement with Fast Track Shopfitters as a Carpenter where I worked for 3 years. I was solely responsible for Fitting, Suspended Ceilings & bulk heads on malls in and around Durban. Worked at South African Petroleum Refineries (SAPREF) Refinery Subcontracted to Cementation Civil & Building. I was employed as a Supervisor/ Crafts Carpenter based in the Maintenance Team. I was responsible for 7 carpenters who reported directly to me. Some of the duties I had to oversee were permit receiving, monitoring all concrete works (decks, staircases and structural support). Advanced career with Trace Contractors with a two-year guaranteed contract as a Contract Supervisor for Cathodic Protection on SAPREF Servitude (7 pipelines that run from Harbor to the refinery) responsible for Permit receiver, Safety rep, traffic control and planning. Received a lucrative offer from Africamp Modular Camp & Construction as a Construction Supervisor. The offices were based in Centurion, Gauteng and the site I worked on was based in Northern Cape- I travelled frequently between KZN and Gauteng and Northern Cape. building Modular homes in Black rock & Gloria mines. Career Advancement – Sought stable employment with Ilembe Group as a Site Foreman, supervising 40 direct Tradesman (Brick Layer, Decking, Roofing) that reported directly to me, doing Hostels in Kwamashu – Kwa Zulu Natal for Department of Human settlement.
