We were installing a baggage handle system at the new terminal three building in Dubai, 96km of conveyors, 7200 motors with ECHOFAST (Siemens soft starters) this was controlled through 116 S7 300 & 200 PLC's via profi bus on Siemen's power bus system.
My main responsibility was the managing of the 3 main sub-contractors and coordinate work allocations between them (Inter roller, Cimac, Abeg).
Daily and weekly reporting on progress and problem areas, problem solving.
The coordination between commissioning/Test teams and the subcontractor for time slots for work to be done, and granting of permits.
And to oversee the installations and pre-commission of the areas before handing over to the commissioning Engineers, this entailed, verify all inputs and outputs and addressing of echo fast and plc's to insure they are correct, and to ensure the installation is according to the agreed specification.
I was also responsible for the failsafe safety system (3000 E/stops) Which is controlled through Siemens S7 300 failsafe PLC modules via Profi bus and fibre Optic network.
I was responsible for, the closing off of all open points (G-Lop) General List of Open Points, for all outstanding works and defects. That had to be rectified and closed off according to priority.
