  • The task I spent most time on was indexing of periodicals, both local and overseas, in order to provide a comprehensive current awareness service.
  • This was sent out regularly to members who subscribed.
  • I was responsible for building up the membership and improving the service.
  • I felt I was successful in achieving this goal.
  • The membership rose from 6 when I started in 1987 to 16 in mid-1989, an increase of over 150%.
  • The indexing was computerised since 1988, and this led to a more dynamic service.
