  • Lead the operational planning and implementation of Slot Coordination and ensure adequate staffing levels and capability to provide required services during published hours.

  • Continuously Monitor service delivery outputs aligned to standards, identify risks, mitigate and identify service level deterioration and implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Ensure adherence to IATA guidelines and deadlines in IATA scheduling calendar and SA slot regulations, which include but not limited to: fair and equitable slot allocations, accommodating new entrants, 80/20 rule compliance, advising operators of historic slots and negotiating discrepancies, seasonal allocations
  • Manage IATA worldwide deadlines by implementing the planning, internal compliance deadlines and task distribution accordingly.
  • Build additional airport capacity into the SCORE software, ensuring that the technical aspects and data are correct, and system is maintained and upgraded where necessary.
  • Manage the planning and execution of various projects and special events where slot coordination is required.
  • Liaison with industry bodies and government entities including DIRCO, DOT and SAAF.
  • Manage the administration of staff in line with the ATNS policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs in accordance with ATNS talent management processes and ensure adequate resources and planning to support the employees.
  • Review and/or revise relevant aeronautical publications.
  • · Prepare statistics, graphs, reports and presentations, including: analyzing slot booking requests, slot utilization, slot occupancy, monthly reports and statistics for Manager CAMU, Reports and statistics for Slot Committee members
  • Manage budgets for the team in line with ATNS budget cycles.
  • Prepare and carry out training and annual proficiency tests.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with slot related stakeholders including aircraft operators, airport management, SAAF, internal ATNS to facilitate optimal slot allocation & utilization.
  • Establish relationships with Airlines, international and local airline scheduling Managers to align schedules; and attend international industry meetings and forums.
  • Attend meetings, industry forums and prepare for IATA slot conferences as official Head of Delegation for South African slot coordination & adhere to IATA code of conduct for slot conferences.
  • Represent slot coordination at the Slot Coordination Committee South Africa & Slot Performance Sub-Committee.
  • Resolve complaints, queries or investigations related to slot coordination.
