  • B-BBEE Strategy
  • Delivery of the BBBEE & ESD Strategy for the key objectives, initiatives, timeframes and related costs for Board approval;
  • Guide and assist Managers and operational staff in the crafting of appropriate strategies and action plans to achieve the target level;
  • Understand Company requirements, operations and strategy and align the BBBEE objectives of the Company within the budget constraints and possibilities.
  • B-BBEE & ESD Plan
  • Develop a BBBEE & ESD plan for the Company to implement;
  • Train departments on Implementation Plan and meet regularly with employees to assess level of understanding and commitment;
  • Monitor development on a monthly basis and report to Supply Chain Manager and other relevant Management;
  • Work with the establishment of ESD Companies, selecting and training them, mentoring and coaching them to be stand-alone successful businesses.
  • Compliance and Reporting
  • Educating and informing of developments on the B-BBEE Codes and other sector specific issues;
  • Manage the annual BBBEE verifications by the appointed verification agency;
  • Monitoring and reporting to HR and Managing Director using dashboard or other reporting structure for monthly management meetings and Board Meetings;
  • Managing the responses to external questionnaires and surveys;
  • Managing the BBBEE scorecard scenarios required for annual planning and guidance.
  • Committees
  • Design and set up relevant employee committees such as Employment Equity, Skills Development, Transformation and Diversity committees;
  • Set up a fair and objective nomination process for electing members to the various committees;
  • Coordinate quarterly meetings of the BBBEE Committee including the preparation and presentation of monthly reports on BBBEE Programs to be reviewed in said meetings, as well as drafting and publication of minutes;
  • Conduct information sessions with BBBEE Committee to highlight major changes, concerns, strategies, action plans
  • Strategic human resources
  • To assist with the strategic planning of the company in so far as the recruitment needs are planned and scarce skills are managed within the benchmarks available;

  • Recruitment and selection
  • Develop policy and adhere to it in terms of advertising internally and promotion from within if possible or best candidate for the job is recruited;

  • Process external recruitment in terms of EE requirements where possible and if not possible ensure reasons are valid;
  • Ensure regret letters and potential applicants are treated decently - both internally and externally;
  • Train Managers and Foremen in interviewing skills;
  • Process all local recruitment requests in an effective and efficient manner;
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies to achieve best rates and service;
  • Weekly planning schedules adhered to for manning requirements especially in terms of short term labour forecasts;

  • Training and development
  • Develop a training and development policy and adhere to it;
  • Do a training needs analysis on an annual basis for all staff;

  • Liaise with service providers regarding prices and suitability of courses;
  • Manage apprenticeships with Training Officer to ensure EE requirements are met;
  • Manage apprenticeships in terms of future staffing needs;
