I am an English Second Language (ESL) and music teacher with 5 years' ESL teaching and 3 years' music tutoring experience.
I teach English speaking, listening, reading and writing effectively at all levels. I am particularly proficient at teaching grammar, perfecting writing and building up my students' confidence. I've brought students' test scores up from a 'fail' to an 'A' and been honored with awards for my teaching excellence out of a pool of several hundred teachers.
I studied music at university, being trained primarily in jazz (piano, theory, history), Classical music (theory, history), music technology, musicology and film music.
I tutored first-year university music students in theory (jazz) and history (Classical, jazz). I have a firm grasp of these subjects at a high level and can teach them at all levels, having taught theory at a beginner level to a brass band of underprivileged musicians. Additionally, I've taught beginner piano privately.
