Zulu - Witz 2016
I started up this business for a company in America after being a brand manager previously. I was given 5% shares for the initial start-up, and then received an additional 5% after reaching budgets and growing the business in 2012, and then an additional 5% in 2016 for reaching targets and continual growth.
For two years, I was the only employee in SA and did all the listings before the product arrived in 2010. I designed the local packaging, did all the contracts for outsourced Sales and Merchandising Nationally, as well as all key accounting and building a business model, and securing an overdraft.
In 2010, I hired an assistant, and in 2011, I hired a National Sales Manager in CT. KZN and JHB, plus a full-time bookkeeper, and then three dedicated area managers.
In 2022, due to the political climate in SA, the majority shareholder wanted to sell the business. Negotiations started, and the deal was signed in September 2023. All staff were to be transferred to the new company, which happened in December 2023.
My new role was National Key Accounts and Marketing Manager. I embraced this role and now I want to challenge myself with something other than popcorn.
Was headhunted for this job while living in Australia. It was a great offer, which initiated my decision to come back to SA. The brands I managed were Kinderjoy, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, Loacker Biscuits, as well as smaller international brands. I attended many trade shows abroad. I found the brand Popz at the Germany Food Trade show and brought it to SA for Nutella. They were not focused on smaller brands, and I was approached by the owner of Popz to start up a business in SA and focus on Popcorn. I rejected the offer and said we would need a strong SA Brand to be successful in the marketplace.
I was paid a retainer to leave and once I negotiated a royalty agreement with Ster Kinekor Entertainment, it was time to go out on my own.

I am in my 50's and have a wealth of experience in dealing with People. I am a strong and independent woman who loves people and am truly interested in hearing other peoples history.
I have two grown children who both reside in Australia and have families of there own.
I have been married twice. My first husband is the father of my two children and I am still currently married to my second husband. We have been together for 28 years.
I am a foster parent to my first cousins child. There was abuse in their family and out of all the family, I stepped in and took the child to care for her since she was 6 months old. She is now 8 and we are committed to ensuring she stays with us until she is finished her schooling and studies.
I love South Africa and am proud to be an African woman.
I visit my family in Australia once a year and have no intention to ever go back to live there.

I started Diving in 1998 together with my husband. We have dived the barrier reef, red sea and all along the coast of Mozambique where we dive annually.
We have a small boat and have both completed our Skippers course. My husband has completed his rescue divers course as well as his Dive master course which enables us to take our boat out to see and dive together without assistance.

Actions speak louder than words. I think what you don’t know is more important than what you do as you can no longer learn if you think you know everything.
I believe you stop learning when you die. In listening to others speak, you learn a lot more than trying to prove what you already know.
