MATERNITY

• Administering medication
• Progressing Labour
• Filling in the Partogram
• Assisting patients with Normal deliveries as well as high risk cases
• Management of chronic and gestational conditions including Pre-Eclampsia, gestational Diabetes
• Managing Antepartum and postpartum haemorrhage
• Management of placenta abruptio,
• Resuscitation of newborns
• Catching babies in theatre as well as assessing thereafter
• Preparing patients for both elective and emergency caesarean section
• Providing health education about family planning
• Commencing blood transfusion
• Wound dressing
• Putting neonates under phototherapy
• Giving immunisation
• Giving contraceptives
• Giving health education about post natal care
• Advocating for patients
• Delegating staff and being a shift leader
