2024

• Feb - Current: Acting as the plant engineer at EWRP (Emalalheni Water Reclamation Plant). My duties encompass plant maintenance adherence, finalizing project deliverables and closeout, and addressing various engineering challenges.

2023

• August - December: Diesel Department; working with the Diesel and Surface Engineer. Responsibilities included: Compiling Critical spare list, Creating Maintenance compliance matrix, and sub-assembly audit.
• May - July: Working with the site Reliability Engineer. Responsibilities included: Major machine overhaul planning (5-year projection), capital budgeting, weekly reporting on fleet performance (PowerPoint presentations) MTTR, MTBF, and work management compliance.
• April: Enrolled at Murray & Roberts Shaft Sinking Appreciation Course
• Feb - March: Enrolled at Stellenbosch for the NMDP (New Managers Developmental Program)
• Jan: Acted as a foreman on the horizontal drills

2022

• December: Worked in reliability department under supervision of the site Reliability Engineer.
• August - November: Enrolled at Sibanye Stillwater Gold in Carletonville to gain exposure to hard rock deep-level mining methods. Focused on engineering modules.
• June - July: Reviewed technical procedures for senior engineers - Zibulo Colliery
• March-May: Enrolled to CTC (Colliery Training College) to do basic hand skills training in fitting, boiler making, and engine mechanics.
• Feb - March: Interdepartmental exposure to become familiar with the site - Zibulo Colliery.

• I sold imported jackets with a 200% markup to friends and locals, capitalizing on my free time during my final study year. Discovering a supplier of low-cost, high-quality second-hand jackets, I curated and sold top brands like G-star Raw, Jack Wolfskin, and 66 Degrees North.
• I managed avocado sales and deliveries, initially distributing water for a friend to local coffee shops and customers. An avocado distributor noticed my efforts and proposed a deal to pay me 65% commission per box sold, each containing 12 avocados. This arrangement led to earning R4500 from a single day’s delivery every three weeks—a substantial income for a student.

• Worked on a project, "Capital Constrained Maintenance at Khwezela Colliery". I worked with the site Reliability Engineer. I collaborated with the geology, mining, and condition monitoring department. I presented to the Executive Heads of Thungela Resources, at the time - Anglo American Coal.

• Worked on a project; "Investigate Power Dips at Goedehoop Colliery". Worked with the General Engineering Superintendent for surface engineering.

• Gained workshop power tool experience: Fitting, boiler making, and electrical.
